Bio: Shimaa Y. Dessouky has completed her third year serving as a Program Co-Coordinator for the Department of Anthropology’s NSF Summer Research Methods Program. She holds a MS in Applied Anthropology from the University of North Texas. Her research interests include community development on a local and international scale, evaluation anthropology, migrants and refugees, human rights, social justice, the Middle East, North Africa and the Arab world.


Satoshi Yamaki has completed his first year serving as a Program Co-Coordinator for the Department of Anthropology’s NSF Summer Research Methods Program. He graduated in May 2009 with a MS in Applied Anthropology from the University of North Texas. His research interests include refugee displacement and resettlement, international development and humanitarian relief, evaluation anthropology and Southeast and East Asia.
