Tom Forrest
Tom Forrest was appointed Interim Executive Director of the Texas Facilities Commission (TFC) in August. Forrest was previously Director of Contract Management and Administrative Support in the agency's Facility Design & Construction division.

As chief executive officer, Forrest manages an agency with an operating budget in excess of $163 million. The agency has just over 320 full-time employees along with approximately 160 full-time contract personnel, with responsibilities for major design and construction projects as well as facility leasing and space management, minor construction, and federal and state surplus property programs.

His responsibilities include overseeing TFC's extensive scope of work that includes managing, constructing and maintaining billions of dollars of State assets. TFC currently manages approximately 125 facility design and construction projects worth over $500 million, maintains and operates 134 state-owned office buildings, facilities and properties, and manages a lease portfolio of approximately 1,100 leases worth over $117 million.

Forrest guided advanced managerial work, administrative management and the direction of contract management in his previous post at TFC. His role with the Facility Design & Construction division also included managing the purchasing and support staff in the division, as well as overseeing all contract management. The division established priorities, standards and measurement tools for determining progress in meeting production goals. He also evaluated program activities and reviewed and approved budgets.

A native Texan, Forrest grew up in Daingerfield, TX and has lived in several cities around the state. He graduated from the University of North Texas with a Bachelor's in Political Science and History in 1972, and completed his Master's in Public Administration at the school in 1981.Forrest came to TFC from Forrest & Associates, where he held the position as President of the company, and he has over 25 years in executive management at the local government level. Prior to his work at Forrest & Associates, he was Assistant Director of Public Works and Assistant Director of Transportation, Planning & Sustainability for the City of Austin, where he managed public works, transportation and sustainability projects, land-use planning, budgeting and capital project funding, professional service and construction procurement and contracting, and interlocal government agreements.

Corina Sadler
Corina Sadler receives Outstanding New Volunteer Administrator Award

Corina Sadler, a 2007 Gerontology graduate, has received the Outstanding New Volunteer Administrator Award from the NAVPLG, the National Association of Volunteer Programs in Local Government. She received the award at the NAVPLG annual meeting held at the 2009 Points of Light/Hands-on-Network Conference, June 22, in San Francisco. This award honors a Volunteer Administrator with three or fewer years of experience in the management of volunteers in local government, who reflects the high ideals of the profession and whose dedicated efforts allow volunteers to produce significant achievements. Corina is the Volunteer Resource Coordinator for the Volunteer Resource Center for the City of Plano. Her leadership in the massive transformation from paper applications and files to a new online data management system earned her praise for making such a vital impact on the Volunteers in Plano (VIP) program where she is seen as an outstanding volunteer administrator.

Dr. Paul Ruggiere
Paul Ruggiere, Director of the PACS Survey Research Center, won his mayoral bid for the City of Corinth in May. Paul is a graduate of PACS, receiving a BA in Marketing, and a Ph.D. in Sociology.
